Dan has been shooting photos for over fifteen years. While growing up in Sydney's western suburbs, he developed an interest in photography - and found the perfect subject matter, right in his backyard - skateboarding.
After completing a BA Visual Arts, Dan launched head on into action sports photography and has experienced a great deal of exposure. Dan is known for bringing a skateboardesque style of photography into Australian snowboarding and skiing.
Dan's work has been published in magazines from Australia, New Zealand, Finland, USA, and Japan. Including: Australian Snowboarder, NZ Snowboarder, Snowsurf (Fr), Method Mag (Europe), SG Magazine (USA), and Transworld Snowboarding (Japan).
In between documenting the action on the mountains, Dan has spent part of the last two years shooting a series of black and white portraits of Australia's elite snowboarding fraternity - giving a face to a subculture normally hidden behind large goggles.
Dan is currently senior photographer and writer at Australian Snowboarder Magazine, works as a commercial freelance photographer in Sydney and is a regular editorial contributor to various snow, sport, travel and lifestyle magazines around the world.
